Kia is Breaking Records — and the Best is Still to Come

2027 Sportage Family Lineup
If you have been noticing more and more Kia models on the road lately, there is a very good reason for that. Kia America just posted its best July sales performance in company history, selling 75,857 vehicles last month alone, a 7 percent increase over the same period last year. Through the first seven months of 2026, Kia has sold 506,584 vehicles, putting the brand on pace to set its fourth consecutive annual sales record.
The numbers speak for themselves, and they tell a story of a brand that is firing on all cylinders.
Six Kia models set their own individual July records last month, and the variety of those models says a lot about the strength and depth of the current lineup:
- Sportage Hybrid — up 76 percent year-over-year
- Seltos — up 61 percent year-over-year
- Carnival Hybrid — up 16 percent year-over-year
- Sorento Hybrid — up 16 percent year-over-year
- Telluride — up 13 percent year-over-year
- K4 — up 8 percent year-over-year
The electrified side of the lineup was equally impressive, with hybrid models up a remarkable 108 percent year-over-year and the broader electrified lineup growing 52 percent compared to July 2025.
“Kia’s momentum continues to increase as we see widespread interest in a variety of models across our entire lineup, from sedans to SUVs, to hybrids and all-electric powertrains,” said Eric Watson, Vice President of Sales Operations at Kia America. “Our ability to continue setting records despite a tepid industry reflects the strength of our product lineup and sustained consumer demand.”
The record-setting July came with several other milestone announcements worth sharing. The all-new 2027 Kia Seltos made its national media debut in Newport Beach, California in mid-July, introduced to automotive journalists as a comprehensively redesigned SUV built for drivers whose days can begin with a commute and end with an adventure. The new Seltos is now in showrooms here at Mechanicsville Kia and already generating serious excitement among our customers.
The 2027 Kia Telluride was also named one of Newsweek’s “Best New SUVs” in its 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards, an honor determined entirely by public vote based on quality, performance, and overall ownership experience. It is a well-deserved recognition for one of the most talked-about SUVs on the market.
And in a testament to Kia’s commitment to giving back, Kia America and its nationwide network of retailers raised more than $4.7 million for nonprofit organizations in 2025 through the brand’s Accelerate the Good Dealer Match program. That includes more than $1.5 million each to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and No Kid Hungry, along with critical funding for organizations focused on children’s health, veterans, disaster response, and community well-being.
Whether you are drawn to the newly redesigned Seltos, the award-winning Telluride, or any of the hybrid and electric models that are clearly resonating with drivers everywhere, our team is here to help you find the perfect fit. Richmond’s number one selling Kia dealer is ready to keep the momentum going.
